Located just 26 miles (42 km) from Puerto Vallarta airport, and only takes a reasonable 45-minute drive, through long picturesque stretches, to reach Punta Mita.
Punta Mita’s breezy, ideal tropical climate is a year-round draw. The breezes are most often offshore, so it makes for ideal surfing conditions, almost year round. These gentle sea breezes keep the temperature comfortable during the dry, warm winters and through the hot, semi-humid summers. Overall, air and water temperatures are very similar to Hawaii, sharing the same latitude. Hurricanes are rare in this stretch of Pacific Coast, and even during the wet season (June – September), rain typically occurs in the evening and clears up by morning.
